Blog Bask

OK I'm getting bugged clicking on the same old list. I need to find a new place where the kids are hip.

Regular Free Advice readers have a good sense of my tastes, sense of humor, and so forth. If you could name just one blog that you think I should be checking daily, what is it?

Comments:
This new one from Steven Landsburg has been okay so far: http://www.thebigquestions.com/

You should read the blog of "Mencius Moldbug" over at Unqualified Reservations.

He actually only posts once a week, so you don't have to check him daily. Though his weekly posts are pretty substantial essays.

This site, "Moldbuggery" provides an organized index of his essays divided into categories.

Art Diamond's blog has interesting links from a free market perspective (he's a Schumpeterian, with some history with and sympathy for the Austrians) http://www.artdiamondblog.com/

I posted this at your Ahnold post, but I'll post again here. This blog provides economic analysis of comics. I think it's interesting.

Sometimes I like to read John Lott, the gun guy.

I only read Yglesias because I’m old and being horrified helps get the ol’ blood pumpin’ in the morning.

This morning's scary Halloween post sure got the blood pumpin':

"When it comes to macroeconomic management, you need to listen to your economists not your pollsters. Christina Romer’s analysis says we should be running bigger deficits, not smaller ones."

I assume you need to kill exactly one hour that the government has graciously allowed you to borrow for five months. I would recommend Errol Morris essays on his NYT blog. They don't come around often but when they do it is as good as blogging gets.

"Global Domination Through Applied Inactivity" Non-academic and funny (is that too redundant?).
http://www.mojosteve.blogspot.com/

Here's an exemplary post about the flagrant danger of sporks: http://mojosteve.blogspot.com/2009/10/we-need-10-day-waiting-period-for.html

"The Daily Bail: Bailout News, Opinion, & Analysis. A Path to Federal Bankruptcy" Keep tabs on your overlords with one easy click!
http://www.dailybail.com

A day late here but still loads of fun, Daily Bail offers your choice of "mask of the devil" in Paulson, Bernanke, or Cramer: http://dailybail.com/home/mask-of-the-devil-be-paulson-bernanke-or-cramer-for-hallowee.html

Oh, and to keep up on news with a dose of wit and snark on Track-a-'Crat. He seems to find the inner beltway stories long before anyone else: http://trackacrat.com/

More than "one" suggestion, I know, but it all depends on your needs of the day.

The Blackadder Says:

I would second the recommendation of Mencius Moldbug. However, you should be warned that it's not the sort of thing that you can just skim or sample casually. The posts tend to be quite long (several thousand words), and are mostly done in multiple part series. On the upside, MM is a great stylist, has a unique way of looking at the world.

I have a hard time believing you wouldn't enjoy reading Coyote Blog and the same writer's blog called Climate Skeptic.

That's the blog of David Goldman. He used to run the hedge fund named Asteri Capital, which he disbanded prior to the crisis because he felt that there were too limited opportunites for profitable investment. He also was the head of fixed income research at BoA a few years ago. He offers some interesting market focused commentary, and his posting are not frequent enough to inundate your feed, like other market focused blogs (zerohedge or calculated risk).
