Markets in Everything

Has anyone else noticed that MarginalRevolution has a featured ad (in the top left) that blames all of our health care woes on the insurance companies? A lot of the time, the ads have the catch phrase, "If the insurance companies win, we lose."

Note that this doesn't seem to be a random google ad.

I'm not sure what my point is, except that I am suspicious of all-things-Cowen. In any event, it's strange that one of the top sites for libertarian politics and free-market economics has such featured ads.

Comments:
That's funny...there's was a google ad on Radley Balko's The Agitator page that promoted educational services so that you might one day work in the law enforcement industry.

I have a feeling that the Google ads are generated based words used on the website.

The Blackadder Says:

Bob, Bob, Bob. You're looking at this all wrong. The insurance companies favor the mandates and subsidies that make up the bulk of the Bacus bill. So by keeping up the ad, Cowen is subversively sending the message that pro-market is not the same as pro-insurance company, and that letting the insurance companies get their way in this instance is contrary to libertarian principles.

Okay, so probably not. But given the way Cowen's mind works, can we really be sure that he wouldn't offer this sort of explanation for allowing the ad? Can we even be sure that it wouldn't be true?

"I'm not sure what my point is, except that I am suspicious of all-things-Cowen."

I see a pattern of pattern recognition, again.

Tom,

You're going to have to be less subtle. I have no idea what you're talking about here. I suspect it has do with my ancestors avoiding being eaten by Tyler's ancestors.
