Atlas Sound Money Essay Contest

Prizes:

* The overall winner of the Essay Contest will receive a cash prize of $5000.
* Two additional prizes of $1000 each will be given to outstanding essays written by junior faculty, graduate students, or policy writers.
* Three additional prizes of $500 each will be given to outstanding essays written by undergraduate students.

Deadline: November 24, 2009

Essay Topics:

* “Money and the Free Society: Can Money Exist Outside of the State?”
* “The Ethical Implications of Monetary Manipulation”
* “Monetary Policy and the Rule of Law in the United States”
I'm sure you are wondering about the following two issues:

(1) No I will not be entering.

(2) No I don't think the prizes will be paid in sound money.

I'm amazed people pay for these contests. They obviously don't read much on the internet. Winning-essay material on sound money is literally blogged about everyday for free.
 
Why aren't you entering? Aren't you less than 35 years of age?

I'd enter but I'm not a US resident, however I'm having a crack at the Independent Institute essay competition.

I'm 55 at heart. And I got burned by an essay contest in the past. I end up bitter over the people who beat me.

So rather than write free market essays earning p*$5,000 where p is completely unknown, I would rather write them for 1*$x, where x is unknown to you but known to me.
