Murphy on Fox News
On Friday, June 26, 2009 I had a brief appearance on Stuart Varney's show. (Here is the clip from June 26, 2008 when I was also on his show.) In case you're wondering, I wasn't being thoughtful in between questions; there is a slight delay.
Comments:
CO2 is not a pollutant.
This is not a pollution tax.
This is a political payoff to the watermelon "environmentists".
These people hate America, hate the market, hate economic production.
I've gone to grad school with these people.
They don't care about the enviroment.
They care about socialism -- and about doing as much harm to the productive classes as they can.

Greg,
Can you elaborate on the grad school thing? When I was at NYU von Pepe dragged me to a Marxist (literally) meeting. It was intense.

Here's an example of an "environmentalist" I knew well at grad school.
He was the son of a union executive -- i.e. his father's livelihood consisted of exploiting the working class. The son himself never did "working class" labor ...
What he did was study radical French & German philosophy -- not serious stuff like economics, but various kinds of Marxism & Nietzsche & Foucault crap, including the "philosophy of technology."
And he had very little interest in the environment -- i.e. he didn't go out in "nature", his apartment wasn't full of plants, he had no problem living in one of the most polluted cities in America, he didn't watch nature shows, he never went to the zoo, he didn't recycle, he loved to consume stuff, etc., etc.
The guy now teaches "environmental philosophy" in an "environmentalist" department.
In grad school the guy collected groupies who were in love with the idea of bringing socialism to America. The socialist / leftist stuff seemed to be an important part of his social skills package -- the thing that brought his group together, and helped him "hook up".
That's one guy. I knew many others.
