Why Will Obama Be Re-Elected?

Kids kids kids. Many of you doubt my conviction that Barack Obama will be re-elected. But don't you realize that that is what preoccupies him and all his advisors every day?

All of these moves are not out of some devotion to Karl Marx, they are instead expertly calculated to deliver the Democrats campaign contributions and votes in upcoming elections. Do you think major corporations are going to donate vigorously to only Republicans when the Obama Administration can declare them a "systemic risk" and nationalize them?

What about the labor unions in Detroit? You think a bunch of their members are going to rally for Newt Gingrich to make another go of it?

Comments:
I expect Obama to get re-elected. I am surprised some of your readers think otherwise. The US (& world) economy may very well tank over the next few years but he will use the excuse that its all Bush's fault to very good effect. And to be fair there is a glimmer of truth in that. After all it was on Bush's watch that the FED got out of control and the budget deficit went up to nearly $11Trillion. Obama's making it worse but at least he is being seen to take opositive action to do something.

Add to the above the likelihood that the monetary stimulus packages are likely to give the economy an inflationary kick. It may be short lived and it may lead to a bigger disaster later on but many may view this inflationary boost as "the real thing" and so trust in Obama.

Also, isnt' capitalism largely discredited now? The theory may be wrong but a lot of people believe this crisis was caused by naked, free market capitlism and a lack of regulation.

Some people have the impression that capitalism is a bad thing but the only thing that will correct that is a bit of education.
