Murphy to Write The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression & the New Deal

I am now working on a new book in the PIG series, this on one the Depression and New Deal. It should come out sometime in the spring.

It puts me in a bit of a quandary. When the book is available and I link to it from this blog, should I call it the second best economics book ever? Or do I demote my first book?

Comments:
Congratulations Bob! I look forward to reading it. I want to read Amity Shlaes The Forgotten Man, but I haven't gotten around to it. Your book will be timely when it comes out (unless the world somehow straightens out before then).

Speaking of un-timeliness, I saw Quantum of Solace today. I chuckled at the digs that the world running out of oil (now that oil is down to $50 a barrel) and the bad guy insisting to be paid in Euros not dollars (now that the Dollar and Euro have returned to where they were in 2006).

This is great news.

You could call the Great Depression book "the other greatest economic book ever."

Congrats! VERY much looking forward to it!

Are you actually going to do some research for this one?

that's great... people deserve to have an alternate veiw, other than what the high school history teachers try to shove down our throats.

Even so-called "conservatives" believe the FDR myth at this point.

The Blackadder Says:

I would call the new book the best economics book ever. The older one could be the best economics book, 1 million B.C. to 2008 A.D.

Are you actually going to do some research for this one?

I was thinking of reading a book or two, if I can be bothered.

The Blackadder Says:

Reading books is for sissies. Just crib some facts from this page and you'll be fine.

Bob,

Congratulations. Awesome subject. This could be the most important topic of the Obama years:

I am counting on you to deliver the truth, clarity and your wiseass sense of humor.

Don't be ridiculous. Everyone knows this is the best economics book ever.
