"End the Fed" Rallies Planned for 38 Cities on Saturday

I just learned of a coordinated protest outside of every Federal Reserve bank planned for this Saturday (i.e. tomorrow) November 22. I would like to point interested parties to a main website but I spent 5 minutes with Google and couldn't find it, just proving that leftists are way better at organizing than libertarians. Anyway, here is the site for the Houston rally, and their "poster" is below. If you live in a city with a Fed branch, presumably you can try googling it directly for your specific event time.

Thanks to English Bob in the comments for giving us the general site. Below is a "poster" tailored to the Houston event.

Incidentally, I was glad that the email I received about the event, stressed that the organized want this to be very peaceful. The Houston event even recommends business attire. I think they are trying to distinguish themselves from angry anarchist teenagers who vandalize McDonalds chains to fight the power.

Comments:
damn... I'm actually going to be in NYC the day before for a Cato Institute event. I'm going to miss this, though.

I knew it. Cato working to support the Fed.

yeah, it was pretty intense... you should have heard Jeffery Miron talking about how Ben Bernanke was going to ride up on a white horse and deliver us into economic salvation. It was transcendent.

Talking of the left -- where are all the stupid college kids we saw in Seattle protesting this madness?

That was a rhetorical question.

Murph:

Neil and I attended in Chicago - about 250 people joined. We were dressed in business attire but nearly everyone else was in blue jeans. The police escort was very friendly and we marched through downtown for 2.5 hours until reaching the Fed at which point the momentum fickled out. Like you, I was very excited after reading the invitation but there was a significant amount of slogan yelling and a handful of folks yelling curse words and I felt a bit off put. I'd be interested to hear feedback from anyone else who attended the event nationwide that subscribes to this blog.

Much love & liberty,

Shannon (& Neil by Proxy)

Shannon,

That's cool. Were most of the people Ron Paul fans? When I "marched" with my buddy in NYC for the protest of the World Economic Forum back in grad school days, most of the participants were leftists.

I had to go into work today, which required me to drive past the Houston Fed Reserve building and the protest. I'd say around 400 people there when I drove by. Some Ron Paul signs and graphics.
I did actually see a number of people in suits and dress clothes.

With temperatures plunging down into the 60s there were a lot of people in jackets too. I wore a flannel today. Weather here in Houston has been brutal here for November. ;)

Don't make fun of anarchists, Bob. The people at McDonald's were clearly using their private property rights (which we know cause disease, suffering, famine, etc) to force people like me into buying hamburgers.

They should all be burned to the ground. (Burning buildings down and destroying property isn't aggressive violence you dolts; hamburger selling is. Get with it.)

There was about 150 people in Minneapolis, despite the frigid cold. It was mostly Ron Paul supporters, but there were a handful of Leftists. One speaker was a socialist, proclaiming that the Fed was an evil capitalist entity.
I think it went well despite there being zero media coverage. Very peaceful and respectful (although an officer did have to scold a few people for being in the median). I was surprised at how many honks we got from passersby.
